The Cardiff School of Health Sciences is committed to ensuring that all the degrees in the Centre for Biomedical Sciences have a high practical component which is a key reason why our students are attractive to employers and also make excellent research scientists. The School, situated on the Llandaff Campus has 6 teaching laboratories as well as a number of research laboratories, all having been refurbished to a high standard. State of the art specialist laboratories are used for the handling of biological material such as blood and micro-organisms. The range of analytical equipment allows students to master a number of techniques in preparation for employment. In this tour, students are developing their early analytical skills through a Biochemistry exercise. Similar exercises take place throughout the students’ periods of study in these high specification laboratories.
