Welcome to this unit on the National Health Service (NHS). In this unit you will acquire an understanding of the history of the NHS in order to enable you to discuss and evaluate the way forward for the NHS. Specifically, at the end of this unit you will:
- Be aware of key historical developments of the NHS
- Understand current pressures on the NHS
- Evaluate solutions to problems in the NHS
To complete this unit you will need a medical sociology textbook and the web links provided within the unit.
