Aims. |
During this unit you will be introduced to the various definitions of health and examine the positives and negatives associated with each.
Specifically at the end of this unit you will be able to:- Provide an overview of the definitions of health.
- Distinguish between health, disease and illness.
- Evaluate the various concepts associated with the definition of health.
In order to complete this unit, you should have access to the following:
- A good text-book which explores the definition of health. For example, Ogden (2004).
- In order to get more detail you should consult the text by Calnan (1987).
