The School of Health & Social Sciences
is a major provider of health and
social care education and research in Wales. The academic disciplines represented
in the school are:

- Dietetics and nutrition
- Podiatry

- Social work and Community studies
- Speech and language therapy
The School houses the Wales Applied Health Research Unit, which utilises
the inter-professional expertise of all the disciplines in the School to promote
high quality research relevant to health and social care.
This is an exciting time in the development of research degree profile in the
School. UWIC is very pleased to be in a position to offer opportunities of studying
for MPhils and PhDs within these vocational disciplines. We can combine the
discipline specific expertise from each profession with the research skills
and experience of psychology. We have a thriving research profile and are keen
to encourage new students to join our burgeoning postgraduate community.
