The Quality Enhancement Centre
(QEC) was established within the Learning & Teaching Development
Unit in 2003.
The Centre’s enhancement activity focuses on developing the
academic means to efficiently and effectively
meet improvements
in learning and teaching.

The remit of QEC is constantly developing and evolving and
includes:
Generating evaluative feedback for the improvement of learning
and teaching;
Disseminating the outcomes of evaluations and developing
action
plans;
Promoting professional development through the Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) scheme;
Supporting and sharing good practice in learning and teaching;
Supporting the development of student-centred learning;
Advancing an evidence-based and reflective approach in the
construction and development of academic programmes;
Supporting the integration of Progress Files and PDP;
Carrying out a range of student experience surveys;
Supporting Student Retention;
Disseminating the annual outcomes from the National Student
Survey (NSS).
