LTDU works as a team
to develop, support and enhance student learning, with
colleagues across UWIC, to promote the highest standards in learning and
teaching. This is achieved by raising awareness of current issues and
progressing the scholarship of learning and teaching.
We promote and implement UWIC’s
Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy.
The Unit
includes the Learning Development Team, the
Quality Enhancement Centre, and
has responsibility for
Continual Professional Development in learning and
teaching.
The Learning Development Team's remit includes
E-learning,
media-based technologies, and an
Observatory for piloting new technologies for learning and teaching.
The Quality Enhancement Centre
works with student surveys,
student experience projects and student retention.
We develop, manage and implement Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) in learning and teaching, the
Post graduate Certificate, Teaching in Higher Education
and
the Postgraduate award - Introductory Studies, Teaching in
Higher Education.
We are actively involved in a range of internally and externally funded
projects to increase our involvement and understanding of learning and teaching in higher education.
To publicise these projects and other events and innovations we
produce 'dialogue' our
tri-annual publication.
