Course Length: Three years full-time
Entry requirements:
Applicants must have 5 GCSE passes at grades A-C to include English Language and preferably two Science subjects, a recent CRB Disclosure check,Hepatitis
B and tetanus vaccinations, and one of the following:
- 280 points from at least 2 A Levels / Scottish Advanced Highers to include a Science subject
- BTEC Certificate / Diploma 260 points within a Science subject
- 280 points from the Irish Leaving Certificate at Highers to include a Science subject (C2 minimum grade considered)
- 280 points from the Welsh Baccalaureate to include grades CC at A Level or
equivalent within a
- Science subject at grade C, Core considered as 3rd subject
- Pass Access with 48 credits at Level 3 within a Science subject to include
15 Merits, preferably in Biology
- Successful completion of Foundation with 65% at level 3 within a Science area
- Qualifications equivalent to the above
Or ‘Foundation leading to BSc Health Sciences’
Applicants undertaking the IELTS qualification need to achieve with a score of 7.0

Entry onto this course is also subject to a satisfactory criminal records check
If you do not meet the above entry requirements, the
‘Foundation leading to BSc Health Sciences’ is available one year full-time and will provide you
with a relevant qualification that can be considered for progression to the degree upon
successful completion. Consideration would be given to any applicant who had achieved at least

Career Potential:
Graduates are able to gain work in the public (NHS) and private sector (practice, industry, commerce). Currently newly qualified podiatrists have ample opportunities to gain employment with little or no delay following graduation.
Course Content:
This is a course of integrated theoretical and clinical studies through which you will, upon graduation, become eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC) - the UK regulator for
the Health Professions. The course was rated 'excellent' by the Higher Education Funding Council (Wales) - the highest rating the Funding Council can award.

Assessment:
Coursework assessment is used at all stages of the degree. This, together with examinations and a major project, contribute towards the end of the year results. The combined assessment of years two and three provide the degree classification.
Selection Procedure:
Selection for this course is normally on the basis of an application form and,
where required, a satisfactory meeting with the admissions’ tutor.
You will be expected:
a) To have observed podiatrists/chiropodists at work.
b) To agree to be immunised against Hepatitis B.Additional
