Staying Connected

The connections you make at university, and the friendships your forge, can last for the rest of your life. We're always delighted to meet groups of friends who have known each other since their first lectures, or first rooms in halls - whether that was 5, 15 or 50 years ago. But once you leave, we're here to help you make the most of other connections - to graduates in the same field, on the same career path, or simply in the same country. Our alumni e-newsletter is one way for us to stay connected with you, and to give you a taste of the opportunities available to you, at whatever stage of life - or work - you may find yourself.

News In Brief...

	New Building for CSAD Cardiff Met is investing £14m in a new building to bring our renowned School of Art & Design onto the Llandaff Campus. Designed by award-winning architects Austin Smith: Lord, the new building will be opened in 2014, subject to planning approval.

	Graduate Start-Up Survey Have you set up your own company since leaving Cardiff Met (UWIC)? Help us complete the HE Business & Community Interaction Survey, which has a direct impact on how we support future enterprise activities, and be in with a chance to win £100 Amazon vouchers.

	Alumni in the Olympic Torch Relay Congratulations and Good Luck to all our alumni and students who are taking part in the Olympic Torch Relay in the next few weeks. Our very own Olympian, Lynn Davies, CBE, carried the torch into Cardiff on Friday 25th. Were you involved?

	Psychology Graduates' Survey The British Psychological Society is conducting one of the largest national longitudinal studies of its kind. If you recently studied Psychology, or know someone who did, click here to find out more.

	Tolkien Online Course Read the books? Seen the films? Eager to find out more about Tolkien's inspiration? Join us in an online journey to explore the vast mythological, linguistic and cultural background of Tolkien's Middle-earth. This accredited online course (MA level) will run again in the autumn 2012.

	CSAD Summer Show The CSAD 2012 Summer Show opens on Saturday 9th June for a week at both Llandaff and Howard Gardens, showcasing work from our talented third year students. Open to all from 10am - 6pm (Sunday 11-6, Friday 10-12).

	Online networks If you missed our alumni networking evening, then why not join us on Linkedin for an opportunity to connect with other graduates in your career area. Our Facebook page is used for event info and photos (old and new!), as well as updates from alumni. If you're on twitter, let us know! Or find us on Friends Reunited and share the memories!
